That makes me think though. What would people say when it's my time? Will my name and face be put up on the tv, on almost every channel, while being called the King of Pop, or the king of anything for that matter?

I think that appreciating Michael for the music he created and despising who he became as an adult are two different things. Fame changes people in ways we lurkers can't possible fathom. I'm not defending him, but at the same time, we can't stop appreciating the musical contributions he made to so many of our lives. Check your calendars boys, Michael Jackson was a part of your adolescent musical development.

Very well said. :tup: But people will still judge him when they have no right too...and they will in fact be judging both of those MJs, young and old, because changing who you are doesn't change what you've done.

What you just said is fine. I wouldn't trust him either...but then again, I don't trust anyone. I just don't judge people I don't know anything about (fact wise)...I can't do it, no matter what they are accused of doing, as bad as that sounds in this case.

I do it because people do have their lives ruined by accusations. People hear something from someone, and then it doesn't matter what really happened. I do it because I don't want the innocent to be locked up, so I defend the worst. Where ever you see a cop beating a guy...oh wait, that line has been used already.

I've always fully loved and supported Michael Jackson. Not going to get into it here, but I've been accused of falsities and have been harassed and assaulted for being different and "odd" or "weird", so I have a special place in my heart for him and others who've faced similar situations.

We all have our life-given right to be as different or weird or eccentric as we'd like. I personally don't believe one shred of the accusations that have surrounded him throughout his adult life and I wish that he could have been granted some peace by the public and media before he passed away.

By the way, I'm 99.99999% sure that no one here knew him personally and I think it really sucks that people judge others without really KNOWING anything about the person or the situation.

But seriously, it's unfortunate that we'll never know the "whole truth." this is the awful price of being globally famous. No one but the person in question can ever know what he/she was thinking when they did the questionable thing. We're now forced to rely on conjecture and interpretation, not fact.

I choose to celebrate Jackson's contribution rather than ride the band wagon to what we celebrate as his collective faults.

I agree 100%. He was strange but so is about 50% of America. I can't believe they are posting pics on the net of him being put in the ambulance!
