Mt. Holy Cross

Just climbed Mt. Holy Cross, one of America's most difficult 14'ers (14'er is a mountain that's summit is at least 14,000 ft. above sea level)! Freakin' love it. Was amazing being that high

Sooo...the first pic is my climbing partners and I on the summit, second pic is the actual mountain (you can't see the "cross" that the snow makes on the mountain, hence the name "Holy Cross" in this view)--can you believe I was up there on the highest rock!?, and the 3rd is me on the descent, almost down to civilization

More to come on my site and such--had a bunch of really good pics taken of me on a diff camera.

14,000 feet huh? That's a long ways up there! I get light-headed looking at your pictures at sea level.

Seriously, congrats on the climb and making the summit. Big accomplishment.

hahaha of course I had to climb/hike down lol Although if we'd had our ice axes, we could have sled down partway in the snow

Nah, I didn't do it because it was "there" (although it is in my proverbial backyard). I did it because I'm a mothafuckin' bad-ass web starlet that climbs mountains and makes them her bitch!

Maybe Kilimanjaro, probably not Everest--anyone with fifty grand can get drug up Everest by a sherpa these days and if I can't do it by myself I wouldn't really count myself as summiting it.

That's cool. Well at least you are braver than I. I don't climb mountains, only stairs. Only if they are reasonable. Don't go expecting me to take the stairs up the Space Needle or CN Tower.

I had no idea you were a mountaineer. I go up to CO every year and go hiking and camping with some friends. I was just in the Westcliffe area this June. I spent a night up at The Lakes of the Clouds. Not nearly as cool as climbin' a 14'er though. Congrats Rachel!
