For the record though, you do not have to have a lump to have breast cancer. watch for any sign of change in the skin or the nipple itself. When SG was diagnosed we were told anything from redness or itching ot a scaly look to the breast as well as in inverted nipple (She had developed a slightly flattened nipple and an itching in her breast) were all warning signs that were common
Please do us all a favor and feel your breasts and be very aware of what is going on there.

That is usually the problem, people don't know what to look for, until it's too late.

So, how's SGs recovery going?

Good. good. got some decent news and she got the drain tubes removed today.
they said the lump was 5.5cm (Stage 3 of 4)
and only one lymph node had signs of metastation (SP?) and the other 13 were clear. on the left side and the right side breast and nodes and all were clear

yeah it's weird, one thing is for sure, I will never look at a woman's cleavage the same way ever again

Remember to always get a second opinion and have someone else feel your boobs too.

my boobies itch sometimes but i cast it off as
a side effect of my nipple piercings....

Don't panic it isn't common for every type, but an exam is something you might want to do to be sure.


also do a thorough monthly exam who knows how much earlier SG would have caught hers if she had been doing it

feel for lumps knots hollow spots or anything like that in and around your breasts the sternum and your underarms and sides

I'm gonna keep bumping this thread til I get tired of doing it, then I am gonna start another one! so bite me.

seriously ladies take 5-10 minutes and get to know your boobies like guys wish they could. get in there deep and be thorough. this is a scary scary situation, and I don't want anyone to skip it or miss something. once you get to know what is normal for you be sure to feel for changes. like I said, anything from discoloring of the skin to tightness or a thickening of skin to a different texture of the skin can be signs of the inflammatory type of BC (also don't forget the normal signs like lumps or hollow spots or things of that nature that you HAVE heard about). itching, burning, even just being tired can be signs of something. I'm not saying it's something every time, but please don't overlook a possible symptom because "It can't happen to me"

Save a life, squeeze a boob! that is all

It's almost Breast Cancer Awareness Month. good time to start your self exams or schedule a sonogram/mammogram or whatever to get a baseline. just looking out for the boobs.

Updating this thread because the video was dead Ladies please feel your boobs NOW. it's never too early. and if you feel something strange please follow up with your physician. your dr may blow it off but if you are uncomfortable with that PLEASE PUSH FOR AN MRI or a Mammogram

Some other symptoms (Other than lumps) of things that can be wrong can be pits in the skin, itching, rough skin, an orange tint to the skin, a burning sensation, or any other number of symptoms.


Oh and I bet many of you don't know to check your armpits for lumps and abnormalities too did you? I didnt either
