So... this is all very daunting.

The forum formerly known as "Off Topic" is now known as "General", replacing the old "General" forum, which is now the "News and Announcements" forum. Okay, got it.

There has been a "Pic Post" forum created, where models are encouraged to post their pics. Yet, the threads reserved for each model for pic posting are now in the "Model Website Discussion" thread. Does this mean that the "Pic Post" forum is for pics only, and no discussion, whereas the "Model Website Discussion" forum is for discussing the pics posted in the other forum? And, was the original system causing some sort of problem, such that it needed to be expanded?

And, how come there is both a "News And Announcements" (Anything about Web Models or the Industry goes here) and a "Model Website Discussion" (News and discussion about your favorite models websites) forum? This seems repetitive. Are these forums for two different purposes? And, if so, which one(s) are the unwashed masses (such as myself) allowed to post in?

Color me confused. But then, I am easily confused.

Well... needless to say, this forum didn't have the reception that we had wanted. It started out great, but then slowly tapered off to what we have now, which is not bad, but we all thought could have been better. The model activity that we had hoped for isn't there either and I don't know if it was because of the personal model threads or the stigma of the board, or if models simply do not have the time to post. Short of closing the board and everyone going their own ways as before, some changes might be good. Whether or not those changes have come too late, i guess only time will tell.

With that being said.....

We didn't want to trash the model threads because of their post value and count so we decided to rename it to website discussion.

News and announcements being renamed from General.... As it was, there was confusion about who and where people could post. I think that this was best renamed and dealt with announcements pertaining to websites or models. Say a model has to cancel her cam show, she can post in there and it won't get "lost" in her website thread. I know Briana was running a contest for her website as was Callista, these types of threads could go in there as well. If your favorite model did some awesome backdoor trick for the first time, I suppose you could put it in there too.

The new general section: Well thats pretty much anything you wanna talk about.

Pic post. Primarily for models but if you got a sweet pic of your dog or ur girlfriend ( as long as she is UNQUESTIONABLY of legal age ), throw her in there. None of the offensive stuff tho please. And please no penises

I think people were more or less afraid to post or didnt know where to post and perhaps that is why it isn't doing what we have hoped, and maybe this will help. All we can do is try and go from there.

Feel free to be as candid as you like to be in this thread and discuss what features you would like to see ( short of a shoutbox ) because in the end, this is all for you guys and girls.

Since this isn't like a huge forum like Freeones where having all the model's stuff in one topic works best, having the models freely start their own topics in the new section should be a good change. Then everyone who is responding to that post can do so in that topic, and the comment replies don't bury the pic posts on older pages where sometimes they get missed.

I don't read a lot of model forums (only this one, actually), but it seems to me, from reading several models' tour pages, that a lot of them are only posting on the forums on their own sites, and that this is a selling point for their sites. Also, there is the matter of webmasters impersonating their own models, so that the other posters never know if they're talking to the models or not. (This question has even come up on this board before, with one of the "main" models here; I'm sure this type of thing certainly doesn't help.) Finally, there is the problem of flaky or lazy models -- girls who just want to make a quick buck posing for pictures -- and webmasters who mistakenly (or fraudulently) try to market them as active models, up until their site disappears after a few months.

I don't have any solutions, though; if I did, I would likely be in the business and making more money than I currently do.

That would be a bummer. I like this board much better than YDG, and I believe it's because of the cooperation between you and Doug and James.

She created a thread in the former "General" section where she was explaining some myths and happenings (without shit-slinging or anything) since the days of the Brooke Marks site, and it got removed without any sort of explanation. Is it possible that this thread was simply in the wrong forum? And if so, can it be put back in the correct one?

Perhaps something tangible that we can use BabeBucks for? (Flash casino games are available all over the internet already for free.) Limited access to some "private" galleries, videos, etc.? This would certainly encourage more participation in these forums. Of course, controls would have to be put in place to discourage post-whoring. LOL

Also didn't some groups kinda already go back to their way? I haven't checked any of the old forums since this one started. Seemed like I read about some forums that were closing or did close, not close or re-open. That coincided with about the time when posting here seemed to drop.

I did not know about this at all and perhaps this is why the forum needs to change. I was primarily only concerned with my models and their threads and check for feedback. For me to go into another models thread and read through 5 or 10 pages of info, i just didn't / don't have the time. I don't mean to sound like a jerk, I just don't have the time. Having new threads created about new topics is certainly more manageable and easier to keep up on. I am quite surprised that there was a question about a webmaster posing as a model as we were pretty good about that and asking for fan signs to prove who they were. Some models do have their own forum which is a good and bad thing. When you have a members only forum, you pay to be apart of that forum, the number of people posting is limited, and the topic is primarily the model and her videos or photoshoots, which is a good thing but the topics tend to end there. Not saying that Babeboards is going to solve the economy crisis, but there have been a few good topics that have been brought up and a good discussion has ensued

Again, this is something that I didn't even know what was going on, nor did I move or delete the thread, because I rarely read posts outside of my models. I didn't even know that Brooke Marks was back until I just asked Doug about it now. I will check with the status of that and what was all entailed and see who removed that thread.

I agree with you. We should have the new vb4 version coming in april and I am sure we will figure out what to do with those damned things.

Seems to me that this just happens a lot in this business. I'm certainly not suggesting that you as an admin are responsible for making sure that every "model" who posts is who they say they are.

More to the point, I'm not really sure that "model participation" is something that can be "made" to happen. The models have to want to participate... and it seems to me that this happens through a combination of 1) convincing them that it is good for their self-promotion, and 2) providing an enjoyable community atmosphere in which for them to socialize. (I realize models are attractive women, and likely have strong social lives outside of the internet, but EVERYONE chats online from time to time.) I couldn't give specifics on how to accomplish this, but a community is only as good as its members make it. I have noticed that Rachel, Madden, Nikki, and Briana Lee all pop into the off-topic discussions at times, and that Misty really likes the arcade (perhaps a little TOO much ). Perhaps amping up the arcade and encouraging more friendly off-topic discussion are good starting points?

On the extreme opposite side of the coin, when you have models who spend most of their time on their own forum and little-to-none on others (whether due to lack of time or pressure from their webmasters)... well, those models are probably a lost cause, participation-wise, and we should probably be content with whatever we get from them -- even if it's simply dropping off some pics every now and then -- it's better than nothing.

I didn't even know that Brooke Marks was back until I just asked Doug about it now. I will check with the status of that and what was all entailed and see who removed that thread.

Well, clearly you didn't know, Doug seemed to have no problems, and I can't imagine James had any problem with anything that was posted, as he is certainly no enemy to people speaking their mind. It could have been the actions of an overzealous mod who thought they were looking out for the integrity of the board, or something to that effect. At any rate, I hope you're able to get to the bottom of what's going on, as I'd hate for people, especially models and ex-models, to start feeling like their posts are unwelcome here.

1. Creative changes on this forum will always be a good thing.
2.I have always thought this forum was very model friendly.
3.Model participation. I see a lot of models out there on the web. New models appear on the scene all the time. Getting them here and on BabeChat would be great.That will always be a lot of work to accomplish.Maybe some really good "recruiters" with the skills would be helpful. I know there already people who do that. Just sayin.
4.I really think member participation is also important.Showing your fave models and webmasters love and posting replies here on there accomplishments keeps everyone in a positive mood and therefore they do more here. I see all these lurker members on this forum with no input or anything. I find that really sad.
5. Everyone or most everyone,like myself has a life outside the net.But there are plenty of people to pick up the slack and keep a forum strong.

I see the newish changes here and I give it 1 1/2 thumbs up (I'd give it 2 but I broke a thumb last week but that's a story for another thread).
