Hey guys, I'm sure some of you have seen my tweets the last few days about my condo fire. Just wanted to post that everyone is safe (animals included)

The entire condo is gutted and we were looking at 2-3 months of displacement originally, but the top units had asbestos popcorn ceilings and the asbestos removal might take up to a year. They threw out all of my clothes/shoes that were in my bedroom (and bedding, bed, rugs...) and I'm stuck in a hotel (and need to figure out what to do not only during the holidays but a whole damn year now) so I'm definitely bummin'.

At the very least I grabbed my snowboard and gear

So sorry to hear that! I had a fire in my building recently as well. They have to gut the whole thing next month. I'll be doing the hotel thing as well.

Sorry to hear Rachel. Glad you and the pets are safe. I know it's cliche' but that is most important. hope the damage is minimal, and the repair is quick. you can always come stay with me in Texas

Wow! Really sorry to hear about the Fire Rachel! It Sucks that your having to go through that an all, But the main thing is that your Ok and the animals are Ok as well! I know how it is to have to stay in a Hotel, (well sort of, i actually had to stay in a Motel) either way i hope that your doin Fine, Take Care and be Safe Sweetness! =)

Glad to hear everyone's okay. If you're going to be out a year, then there is a silver lining: it would be more cost-effective, and probably more convenient, to get an apartment for a year, instead of staying in a hotel, methinks. You would be able to get a normal one-year lease, and not have to worry about extra fees for shortened leases or moving out early.

That is, unless your insurance is paying for the hotel stay, in which case... stay on vacation for a whole year, and rock those amenities!

I never want to hear something like that happened to someone.. but the positive is it could've been worse.. at least everyone is ok and safe.. hope nothing too bad was lost.. next year will be great for you.. u know if there's anything u need ur family, friends, members, and some ppl here in the forums will be there for you

Thanks for all of the well-wishings! On the lookout for a temporary condo and taking full advantage of hotel life for the time being. Things are being taken care of my insurance (mostly) and I've had TONS of great support
