Ok. Got my system all fixed up (format, reinstall).

What I was going to test is running Firefox in safemode: Safe Mode

That should allow you to see if any addon or something else is messing with your setup.

If anyone is using FF and getting redirected, you may be having the same issue I was. I was going to test if it was an addon I was using, until the virus...

    Just food for thought,
    -Chris

P.S. Drew, mumz has been doing exactly what he needs to do, even if it's not on his side. Some other responses, like yours, does not help the situation...You just add fuel to the fire.

More reason I am an advocate for not releasing a 'Beta' site.

"Here's your new forum and network... everything will be changing over the next few weeks... please don't complain to much."

I like that Mumz is encouraging people to mention their issues. As long as just pointing out what they notice, and not making threats about it, then it should be a good thing.

And I upgraded to Firefox 3.5, which upgraded the media plugin, and the video windows look like they load faster now. Haven't got to try it with an actual show just yet though. You can go to Tools>Option>Main>Manage Add-Ons to update specific plugins in Firefox.

Still don't even get the video placeholder in IE, and can't even get the chat page with Chrome.

Uh, I'm confused. I'm taking Mumz's side here—I'm simply saying that people need to give him more of a break so he can get things fixed, and if they can't do that, then they have real problems and they certainly aren't the best customers. If you feel that's inappropriate, well, I disagree, especially given that I'm not talking about anybody here.

I know you are with mumblez, but you just didn't put it in the best way. People pay to see these girls...they want to see them. It's no different when people have their cable go out...the people supplying the service are going to get hit with complaints; some worse than others.

mumblez handles himself very professionally from what I've seen, so he just needs to keep on rollin on.

this is what happens when the testing gets done on the customers. Software producers do painstaking testing on test people to get the bugs worked out. There is no huge R&D department on this sites... so little glitches are frustrating. But I dont think forcing folks to change their browser is the answer. The consumer is not the one that usually has to adapt, and in this case, it seems to be the solution, and the source of disdain.

Lol! Thats hilarious. I waited in line for hours to get the new palm pre. Brand new operating system, brand new phone and I can't even change message ringtones and do basic functions that my 1998 nokia could do, but you know what? I know when the updates come out, its gonna be better then any phone I ever owned. So I wait patiently until they get things worked out because that is what is expected of a consumer to do when something brand new is launched. There are always bugs and things happen all the time when people work outside of their box.

Did I say anything about anyone complaining? I asked for the "complaints" or problems so that things could get fixed. How do you expect anything to get done or fixed if you don't have "beta" testers. When all your people came from the other board I went out of my way to make you feel welcome. Changed things around, to make you feel more comfortable, and I / we are doing the same thing here. Whats wrong with the board? Are certain things stopping you from posting? No, I don't think so. The board works flawlessly. Yeah, its a bit drab and needs color but other then that, I don't see what the problem is.

And lastly, everyone right now should be experiencing no problems right now with redirects. Which reminds me.... I haven't seen you in a chat in some time...

It's true. Windows is a PRIME example of launch and fix. ..... and fix.... and fix... and fix.... lol Updates and fixes are becoming more and more a norm. I guess the video games and 'most' software are more the 'final product' , post testing.

I sense you gettin defensive, Mumz... I meant no disrespect by that, infact it was more in agreement. You guys are flipping everything around to try to get it to work. There are people that are frustrated... as there always will be.

'your people'...? You did go out of your way, without a doubt... and it is why I have the respect I do have for you. There is nothing wrong with the board, and nothing is stopping anyone from posting... it IS running flawlessly. There is no 'problem'... it is a stock, fairly barebones VB... not exactly sure what a FiLux2 is, but that's what I read.

I haven't been to chats in a long time. Since PBE, actually. I sense that as a dig, so I will just sit back over here, and shut up. The last thing I was doing was try to piss you off.

    My appologies.

Edit : I was totally unaware that this was for Paid Sub Webcam chats... I will shut up for sure now. I didn't understand the reference of the 'You don't even go to chats' dig... now I do... *goes over there*

Sorry man just been stressed these last few days and felt like you were ragging on me so I did get defensive. Didn't mean any disrespect just wishin that everything was working flawlessly. Everything was / is being rushed right now to give people what they deserve and I think everything just happened all at once.

It wasnt a dig either. Just asking since I hadn't seen you at a chat if you were experiencing similar problems. I didnt know if you used a different username for chats or what.

With FF3 and the media add-on upgraded things worked much better for me today than yesterday. Only problem was with Misty's show in the first minute and having to restart the feed a couple times. Now hopefully Briana's and Rachel's problems they had get figured out too.

    Default my update

I was having a little trouble tonight.

My setup; I have two PCs connected to a DSL router.
PC1: XP Sp3, IE7, Firefox, AVG, Zone Alarm
PC2: Vista Basic, IE8, Firefox, AVG, Windows Firewall

At the start of Briana's show I could not view the cam on either machine using any of the three browsers.
I had to paste the link into VLC player or Windows Media Player to see the show.

I installed the suggested wmv plugins for Firefox but still no luck. By that time the show was over.

Misty's flash show came on and all three browsers ( IE7, IE8, and Firefox) worked.

I reinstalled Firefox (upgrading to 3.5) and the plugins (MediaWrap and Windows Media Player) during Misty's show.

When Brittany's show came on Firefox worked on both machines.

Sadly I still get the error "Windows cannot display this webpage" with both versions of IE

Thanks to all that offered help and suggestions.

One recommendation. Get rid of Zone Alarm if it's the free version. D/L COMODO firewall (it's free too). A firewall is nice to have, but having it block programs from accessing other programs is more important.

A lot of times, bad proggies will open up your browser as a hidden window and send info through http... Firewalls won't stop that as you most likely gave your browser permission to access the internet.

Also, a nice thing to have is SpyBot Search & Destroy with TeaTimer. TeaTimer is great. It monitors your registry and blocks changes to it, while letting you know something is trying to change it. It's free too.

    Then, as a once-in-a-while check, d/l MalwareBytes. It's a very good malware/spyware scanner. It's free as well.

I run all of those with Firefox (with NoScript addon) and everything is working perfectly.

I got a new one for you. Now with the link for WMV, the video opens in the browser window now, rather than going to the WMP program itself. But it comes up with the player size at the size of the window, counting the info part beneath the video. So the video is only like have the size of the window.

In FireFox 3.5, and this is only a printscreen screenshot, so you don't see the video itself, but you can see where it would be.

Not even something I need fixed, I can just switch it to WMP myself. But in case anyone else has the same problem I wanted to mention it. Could be I just need a smaller WMP Skin too, to fit in the window.

I did, but only in the small window. The larger format opens, then Media Player opens by itself and streams it that way. Figured it was supposed to be in the browser window, but whatever, as long as I see it.

Mumz fixed the WMV pop-up video window size while a bunch of us were still in chat tonight to test it out. And also made the chat resizeable so it can be bigger and hide the links list.

Mine opened the same way, larger format opens the MP itself. Stream was good.

AND I just checked out the resizable chat window, excellent!

    woot Mumz.

I had maybe the same issue coming in for Rachel's chat yesterday using firefox. When I launched the video, it said I needed to download a wmv plug-in (which it didnt the nite before) and when I did and came back to the chat, I got the wmv pop-up window. I could resize the window but the picture inside stayed the same and I got only a bigger black border around the pic. I went back to IE and it was fine for the rest of Rachel's show. Used a different laptop and firefox for Madden's show and it worked great.

For the first week, I think things have gone pretty smoothly. I know it is frustrating for the people who have had issues (like, for example, I would have freaked if I had missed Maddie's show) but the webmasters and other tech-savvy chatters are there offering suggestions. I'd bet that everyone will soon figure out whatever tweaks are needed on their computers and Mumz and others will continue to make improvements on their end. Then we can all get back to enjoying the awesome Babe Chat line-up.

Were you using the small size when you got the pop up window? Mine is the same way, the small size doesn't resize the video (only the window itself) but the large size launches the WMP itself (not in a pop up) and is totally resizable.
